
Deputy Lorena Ávila stated that, although she has the flexibility to run as a candidate for governor, she does not find it ethical for a father to replace his daughter in a public office. However, she recalled that in Morena nominations are defined through open surveys to the citizenry. Regarding the possibility of being elected, she expressed her willingness to accept the survey results and pointed out the importance of listening to the people's opinion on the matter.
Ávila indicated that she and her husband have never discussed their political aspirations in the governmental sphere. Regarding ethical decisions in the party, she mentioned that it is crucial for Morena members to respect the integrity and regulations established in the Constitution, prioritizing the well-being of society above individual interests.
In another context, the leader of the Green Party caucus in the Senate, Manuel Velasco, referred to the possible modification of a bill on nepotism. Velasco declared that he will wait for the decision of the majority of allied deputies regarding this issue, pointing out that Alfonso Ramírez Cuéllar seems to have personal interests in this matter.
For his part, Senator Félix Salgado Macedonio expressed his interest in presenting himself as a candidate for the governorship of Guerrero in 2027. He stated his willingness to participate in Morena's surveys if the population requires it. Senator Ruth González Silva, promoted by the Green Party, also showed openness to participate in surveys for a possible candidacy in San Luis Potosí, in response to popular demands.
González Silva highlighted that the population will be responsible for determining who the candidates will be in future elections and defended the importance of respecting the will of the people. In this regard, she emphasized that the Green Party is a relevant political force in San Luis Potosí.
In light of speculations about her influence in negotiations between the Green Party and Morena to postpone the implementation of a reform for about five years, González Silva dismissed such assumptions, stressing the respect and collaboration between both political forces.
